Tweedle Dee Cake Pops

We found some food that resembled Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum. We decided to make them into cake pops.

You can find a tutorial on cake pops in this post about bumble bee cake pops. They are delicious!

Ingredients

Here’s what you’ll need to make these adorable, on-theme cake pops.

  • Cake —Baked, Crumbled
  • Frosting
  • Red, Yellow, White, and Blue Candy Melts
  • Mini Marshmallows

A wooden tray with several red and yellow decorated desserts shaped like figures wearing hats, placed on a granite countertop; deviled eggs are in the background.

Directions

To decorate this Alice in Wonderland party food, you need a variety of colored candy melts. We didn’t put these cake pops on sticks, but you definitely could.

1. Roll and Chill
Roll your cake pop mixture into balls and chill them in the fridge until firm.

2. Dip in Red Chocolate
Dip the chilled cake pops into melted red chocolate.

3. Add Yellow Top (Optional Tip)
For a two-tone look, you can dip just the tops into yellow chocolate after the red layer has set. (Next time, we would redip instead of adding yellow separately!)

4. Make Bow Ties
Pipe white and blue chocolate onto wax paper in a bow tie shape. Let them harden completely — they really make the pops pop!

5. Create the Hats
Dip mini marshmallows in red chocolate. While the chocolate is still wet, press half of a candy melt onto the marshmallow to make the hat brim.

6. Assemble and Decorate
Attach the marshmallow hats and bow ties to your cake pops with melted chocolate. Let everything set before serving.

This Alice in Wonderland party food was not only cute but so, so delicious!

Cymbal Frogs

This was another Alice in Wonderland party food that was really easy for us to come up with. They were even easier to assemble!

This treat was most of the kids' favorite treats at the party. The frogs were what they kept coming back for.

Ingredients

To make some Cymbal Frogs, you will only need 3 things.

  • Fortune Cookies
  • Albanese Rainforest Frogs (important because of their size)
  • Chocolate Chips
Seven frog-shaped cookies with orange bodies and colorful legs are arranged on a wooden board, with more green treats in the background.

Directions

1. Melt Chocolate Chips
Melt a handful of chocolate chips in the microwave or on the stovetop until smooth.

2. Draw Eyes on Fortune Cookies
Use the melted chocolate to draw two eyes on each fortune cookie. You can use a toothpick or piping bag for precision.

3. Add Chocolate to the Gummy Frog
Place a small dot of melted chocolate on the top of a gummy frog.

4. Attach the Fortune Cookie
Press a fortune cookie onto the chocolate-topped gummy frog and hold for a few seconds to set.

Voila! You now have a simple Alice in Wonderland food.

Accordion Owl

Making an Accordion Owl takes almost no prep (other than picking up the items). This is one of those Alice in Wonderland party foods that was an idea that turned out amazingly.

Ingredients

You don’t need many things to create an accordion owl. The apple fritters are key to making this owl. Here is a list of the things you need to throw together an accordion owl from the Tulgey Wood.

  • Apple Fritters
  • Donuts
  • Green Food Spray
  • Apple Fritters
  • Yellow Frosting
  • Black Frosting
  • Orange Candy Melts
  • Toothpicks
A caterpillar-shaped cake with green frosting and decorated face details is displayed on a wooden cutting board.

Directions

1. Spray the Donuts
Lightly spray the donuts with green food spray. (Tip: Let your guests know the color may transfer onto their hands!)

2. Line Up the Donuts
Arrange about six green-sprayed donuts in a row, placing an apple fritter at each end.

3. Create the Owl Face
Pipe two yellow frosting circles onto the front apple fritter for eyes. Add black frosting pupils (or use chocolate chips instead).

4. Add the Beak
Stick two orange candy melts into the front apple fritter to create the owl’s beak.

5. Make the Tail and Wings
Cut a second apple fritter in half. Attach the two halves to the back apple fritter using toothpicks to form the owl’s wings and tail.

Blue Caterpillar Sandwich

A wooden tray displays sandwiches with blue-green buns, surrounded by themed signs and party snacks on a countertop.

Making this blue caterpillar sandwich was our first idea for Alice in Wonderland food. All we had to figure out was where to get, or how to make, blue rolls.

Ingredients

Here is what else we used to make the blue caterpillar sandwich.

  • Blue Bread
  • Lunch Meat
  • Cheese
  • Mayo
  • Mustard

A buffet table with themed snacks, including blue burgers, animal-shaped treats, and signs referencing Alice in Wonderland, set on a granite countertop.

Directions

1. Prepare the Dough
Make homemade roll dough and mix in some blue food coloring before baking.

2. Bake the Rolls
Bake the colored rolls according to your recipe instructions.

3. Assemble the Sandwiches
Pre-make your sandwiches using the blue rolls and your favorite sandwich fillings.

4. Create the Caterpillar
Lay the sandwiches out in a curvy line on a serving tray to form the shape of a caterpillar.

Mushrooms

Mushrooms are a great non-creature treat. They can be either a sweet or savory option. For our Alice in Wonderland party, we decided to make it a savory option. Think caprese salad.

Ingredients

To make these mushroom snacks, you only need a few items. Then you will have a poppable Alice in Wonderland food.

  • String Cheese
  • Cherry Tomatoes
  • Sour Cream
  • Basil Leaves

A wooden platter displays Alice in Wonderland food ideas resembling mushrooms, made from cherry tomatoes and cheese sticks, garnished with leaves on a granite countertop.

Directions

1. Cut the String Cheese
Slice your string cheese into 3–4 pieces.

2. Stand Up the Cheese
Place the pieces upright on your serving platter, using a dab of sour cream to help them stand.

3. Prepare the Tomatoes
Cut your cherry tomatoes in half.

4. Assemble the Mushrooms
Place a tomato half on top of each string cheese piece.

5. Add the Finishing Touch
Use small dots of sour cream on top of the tomatoes to create the classic mushroom look.

Clam Babies

Making these is why we picked foods to be creatures. They are just so cute! We made the clam babies (oyster babies) from deviled eggs.

A kitchen counter displays Alice in Wonderland Food Ideas, including cotton candy, decorated cookies, deviled eggs, and various signs with whimsical labels.

Ingredients

To make these, you will need all of your deviled egg ingredients and small Canadian bacon slices.

  • Boiled eggs
  • Mayo
  • Food coloring
  • Canadian Bacon
  • Slivered Almonds

We have a short tutorial for making this Alice in Wonderland party food in this blog post (coming soon). Hopefully, it will make these snacks simple to make.

Mome Raths

These were a no-prep treat. All you have to do is find some Sour Octopus gummies. The kids loved them. They also added another bright, colorful touch to the food table.

Ingredients

  • Sour Octopus

Cheshire Cat Cotton Candy

Cotton candy always elevates a party. We love how fun it is. We have a cotton candy machine, but you can also buy it from a store or Amazon in a bucket.

The cotton candy was used on our Alice in Wonderland food table and on our Cheshire Cat ear decorating table.

Ingredients

  • Cotton Candy

Other Alice in Wonderland Party Food Ideas

We had a couple of other food items at our Alice in Wonderland party. This includes the unbirthday cake!

Unbirthday Cake

The best part about making an unbirthday cake is that if it is a little wonky, it’s on point! The unbirthday cake is a little odd-shaped but always delicious.

A pink frosted unbirthday cake with blue and white decorations sits on a white stand; colorful teapot toys are in the background on a pink tablecloth.

To decorate the unbirthday cake, we frosted it with bright pink. We added some bead-like piping for frosting.

Instead of adding piped blue flowers, we decided to use flower cookies. We made Spritz cookies in our cookie press and dyed them blue. It really turned out as the perfect addition!

A round unbirthday cake with pink frosting, decorated with white icing and teal flower-shaped designs, sits on a white cake stand. Three unlit candles are on top.
A three-layer unbirthday cake with pink icing, blue and white decorative frosting, and a slice removed to reveal colorful sprinkles inside.

Drink Me Mix Station

To make this a truly magical experience straight from Wonderland, you want some interesting bottles.

We used 5 bottles and 2 jars. In our bottles, we had: Sprite and Torani flavor mixers. The Sprite was the base for our drinks.

Glass bottles and jars labeled "Drink Me" and "Eat Me" with colorful liquids and sprinkles sit on a yellow tablecloth in front of a white door.

To add extra fun, we chose flavors that had bright colors. Then, we let the kids choose their own mix-ins, including sugar crystal sprinkles and edible glitter. It made each of the drinks unique and fun!

Final Thoughts

These Alice in Wonderland food ideas were fun and better than we ever imagined. If you are hosting a Mad Tea Party or want some Wonderland fun, these Alice in Wonderland food ideas are perfect for your party.
