Although we used this for a birthday party, it would make a fabulous book club for kids’ activities!

Here’s a peek into the best Alice in Wonderland activities and how you can recreate them.

Musical Mushrooms

Turning a classic game into an Alice in Wonderland activity, this was a hit. Think musical chairs, but better. Instead of seats, the kids step from “mushroom” to “mushroom” (or log)—repurposed cork rounds painted—while “All in the Golden Afternoon” plays.

When the music stops, they scramble to claim a stepping stone. One fewer cork than the kids, and the last left standing hops out to cheer on those who remain in the game! The last one skipping in the flower garden wins!

Cheshire Cat Ears

This Alice in Wonderland activity is such a fun craft. The kids decorated plastic cat-ear headbands. They got to create their own version of Cheshire Cat ears and make them a little wacky.

We got the headbands in purple, pink, and red. For decorating, the kids were given paper cat ears to color and glue on.

A table with pink cotton candy, colorful straws, crayons, headbands, and small cups on a pink checkered tablecloth in a brightly lit room.

The kids all received pipe cleaners and beads to transform their ears even further.

Although creating Cheshire Cat Ears was a simple Alice in Wonderland activity, it was a hit! The kids loved being able to create. Wearing their art was also so exciting!

Alice in Wonderland Tea Party

Guided by a playful printable prompt, the Mad Hatter’s Alice in Wonderland Tea Party became a game in itself. You’ll find these activity instructions in our Adventures in Wonderland guide, available in our Etsy shop. Want just the tea party instructions? Grab the free download below!

To do this activity, kids followed quirky directions like, “Think up, think up! Move down, move down, IF you’re wearing red!” If they matched the criteria they would run around the table and back to their spot.

In the midst of the madness, the kids enjoyed the tea party treats—creatures from the Tulgey Wood. You can find those treats here.

Alice in Wonderland Food Ideas

This Alice in Wonderland activity was chaotic and silly. That made it the perfect Mad Hatter-style Alice in Wonderland tea party game.

Children sit and stand around a table with a pink tablecloth at a party, eating and talking, with colorful lanterns and decorations hanging from the ceiling.

We used 3D-printed teacups and saucers in different colors and then painted stripes and polka dots. They were the perfect addition to the game!

Alice in Wonderland Croquet

“Off with their heads!” You don’t want to upset the Queen of Hearts, especially during a friendly game of Alice in Wonderland croquet.

A child in a colorful costume sits on the floor behind a play mat with paper tunnels and animal drawings, and a blue ball with a face rolls through the tunnel.

This wasn’t your ordinary croquet. Mallets were transformed into pink and blue flamingos using paint, feather boas, and giant googly eyes.

Balls came straight from the playroom—balls from the ball pit with Wonderland creatures added on. We set this all up on some fake grass that we had from our Golf Birthday Party. It made the course look amazing.

The goal? Shoot your ball into a hoop made from none other than card guards folded and glued to the included printable green grass.

This simple craft is perfect for entertaining guests before the party kicks off or as a fun craft. We love incorporating low-key activities like this to keep everyone engaged while they wait. As guests arrive, hand them a printable card guard set and let them craft while mingling.
