Cowboy Party Food with Concession Stand
We thought we would share in detail how we made this concession stand happen for our western themed party.
Just like at the rodeo grounds, you can set up a menu for your party guests that resembles a concession stand.
Not only did we create signs to label our concession stand, but all of the food had themed names! We also have food labels for our guests to match the themed name to the food.
Both are part of the First Rodeo Birthday bundle in our Etsy Shop. The bundle includes a menu board, concession flags, food labels, cupcake toppers, and all you need to throw the perfect first rodeo birthday party.

Setting the Table
Before you set up your cowboy party food, you need to decide how many you are serving and what your table (and the flow of serving) is going to look like.
For our western themed party food table, we tried to serve the cowboy party food on dishes that spoke to the theme. Specifically, for this theme, we like tin buckets, barrel-like dishes, and wooden boards and bowls.
Of course, you don’t want to go out and buy all of the dishes you are never going to use again. Instead, being practical, we found many we were able to borrow from friends and family.
If you choose this route, we highly suggest adding a strip of masking tape to the bottom of the item with the name of who you borrowed it from. Alternatively, another option is to take a picture of them with their item. This will help you in the return process after the party.
For our rodeo theme party food, we used some aluminum tins, an aluminum tray, wooden boards, some concession baskets, and a few serving platters. Altogether, that’s what we could gather up and it turned out great!
4 Gallon Ice Buckets
Black Deli Baskets
Wood Serving Tray
To add a little extra flair, we added some bandana and a little bit of red basket liners to our food table.
Red Bandanas
Cowboy Tableware
Flatware Paper Bags
We also bought these cute, on-theme plates and some cutlery packs that we wrapped with paper and a tag.
Concessions Banner
One of our favorite decorative touches was the concession pennant banner we hung across the front of the food table. We printed the pennants (available in our birthday party bundle or individually), cut them out, and strung them together with twine. This simple addition really brought the concession stand feel to life!

We printed off our rodeo themed food labels. Then, when it is party time, we are ready for the food!
Rodeo Themed Food
There are so many ways you can take your rodeo themed party’s food! We decided to set ours up like a concession stand at the rodeo grounds.
We created a cowboy party food menu that is full of delicious foods and named creatively! You can start off by grabbing our menu in our First Rodeo Party Bundle or the Rodeo Food Labels Bundle on Etsy.

Rodeo Food Labels
Our party menu consisted of two main dishes, two sides, three desserts, and 3 drink options. It was a full menu with rodeo food ideas that is sure to please any crowd.

Rustler’s Pork
For our pulled pork sandwiches, we made a crock pot of pulled pork before the party. We really like this recipe. Right before the party, we set out the buns on trays and the pork in a serving dish. Then, as our guests chose their food, they were able to build their sandwich however they chose.
Rodeo Dogs
An easy addition to our menu were these corn dogs. They are quick to cook a bunch in the oven. The kids love them. They are easy to serve! We love that they don’t require much work or supplies to add to the menu.
Berries & Cream
This was such a hit for so many of our guests! The berries were in the perfect season too, which made them delectable alone.
For the cream, we bought some cream made for soft serve machines. We just got this from our local grocery store. It gave it a nice, extra sweet flavor. To serve, we just had small clear plastic cups to fill with berries. Then, we poured the cream over the berries in our cups.
Our guests couldn’t get enough! If you are adding berries and cream to your menu, make sure you get plenty. People will be coming back for more.
Saddlebag Chips
This was a quick and easy addition to our concession stand. Adding bags of chips to a bin is all the work this took. We did add one extra touch of decor that added a pop of color. A bandana! Simply lay it in your tin holder and hang a corner out. It made this simple side a statement piece for the table!
Cow Pies
These were another simple addition. We used chocolate cookies for our cow pies but you can use chocolate chip cookies too!
Hay Bales
A nice big pyramid of rice crispy treats will remind your guests of the hay bales you see around the farm. You can either buy or make your rice crispy treats.
Buckaroo Bites
We called our cupcakes "Buckaroo Bites" and added cowboy hat toppers for a fun touch. We placed the hats on pictures of our little cowboy, but you can also use just the hats. These toppers are available in our Etsy store, making it easy to add some western flair to your party.
To make these cupcakes more on theme, we placed them in these wooden cupcake holders. They were perfect for our rodeo themed party.
Woodgrain Cupcake Wrappers
Bronco Brew, Cowboy Coolade, and Waterin’ Hole
These tin buckets were perfect for holding ice and our variety of drinks. We hung the labels over the edge of the tin. It held them up for the final touch of the theme on our food table.
Final Thoughts
Adding themed food to your party is such a fun and easy way to level up your party! It’s not just about feeding your guests—it’s about giving them an experience. Whether it’s a first rodeo birthday party or dinner before a rodeo; a little extra effort can make all the difference.
