DIY Nutcracker Garland Directions
Step 1: Paint the Pants
Start by painting the lower part of the clothespin black to create the pants of your nutcracker. Allow this layer to dry before moving to the next step.
Step 2: Add the Shirt and Eyes
Paint a white triangle in the center of the clothespin to create the shirt. While you have white paint on your brush, carefully add small dots for the eyes on the nutcracker's face. Let the paint dry completely.
Step 3: Paint the Coat and Mouth
Use red paint to create the nutcracker's coat. Extend the coat over the black pants, ensuring it covers the "tail" of the coat. You may need multiple coats for a bold color.
Next, paint the mouth in red. For a classic nutcracker look, go back with white paint to add small teeth.
Step 4: Add Face Details
With black paint, add pupils to the eyes and a mustache above the mouth. These little details bring personality to your nutcracker!
Step 5: Paint Gold Accents
Use gold paint to add decorative accents. Create two lines on the coat for buttons, a gold belt, and two lines at the bottom of the clothespin for boots. Add a touch of gold to the bead that will serve as the hat.
Step 6: Assemble the Nutcracker
Once the paint is dry, it’s time to assemble your nutcracker. Glue a wood bead to the top of the clothespin for the head. Attach Fiber Fill to the sides of the head to create hair. Finally, glue the bead hat in place.
Step 7: Add Twine for Hanging
Thread a piece of twine through the hat bead before gluing it onto the nutcracker’s head. This way, your nutcracker is ready to hang as an ornament, attach to a gift, or string into a garland.
Now you have a charming DIY clothespin nutcracker ready to add some holiday magic to your decor!
