Easy Assembly for Your Kids Makeup Set

For best results when using our kids makeup set, you will want to print each page on a heavy-duty cardstock. This will help your makeup hold up through many times of play! Making this set the perfect minimalist toy.

The basic directions are the same for all the different makeup pieces. Simply cut along the outline of each makeup item, then fold on the dotted lines. Finally, glue the labeled glue tags to secure each piece together. This straightforward assembly process ensures that your little ones can quickly get to the fun of pretend play!

Choosing the Right Glue for Your Project

When assembling each piece of makeup in this set, we have used a variety of gluing methods. Some of us prefer to use a glue stick. It is something we always have on hand and it works great!

Other options for sticking the pieces together are glue dots, double-sided tape, or rubber cement. Some of the glue tabs are quite small, so finding out what works best for you is important to properly secure each tab.

Creating something that is versatile is what we are always looking for. This play makeup set is no different!

DIY Vanity Pretend Play

Using a box, we created a homemade vanity for our girls to play with. We simply painted the box to match our style, applied tin foil for a mirror, and attached the vanity lights. Then, it gave our girls a place to play and store their play makeup set.

Coloring Activity

Another additional activity to do with this play makeup set is to color your own! We included a file of black and white pages. This can be used to help your older girls design their own makeup. All you have to do is let them color it before cutting and assembling. Our girls love being able to create their own play makeup.

Color Matching Activity

To create this activity, you can start by gluing Q-Tips into the lids of the nail polish bottles. Make sure the Q-Tips are securely attached so they won’t come loose during play. Once the glue is dry, paint the tips of the Q-Tips to match the color of the nail polish in each bottle. Allow the paint to dry completely before moving on to the next step.

When the setup is complete, the activity transforms into a fun and engaging matching game. Your girls can match the painted Q-Tip tips to the corresponding nail polish bottle colors.

This activity also helps build fine motor skills. Kids will carefully lift off the bottle lids and match the colors by placing the lids back on. Our little ones enjoy removing and replacing the bottles and lids.
