Golf Themed Birthday Party
Throwing a golf themed birthday was not really in our realm of knowledge, but it quickly became something we now know a lot about. Between some light research and asking our golf expert, we learned a lot and put together the perfect birthday party!
Golf Birthday Party Invitations
Invitations are one of the first important steps in preparing for a party, right after choosing the theme. They help your guests know what to expect and can even give them ideas for what to bring or how to shop for the birthday boy (or girl).
To make this part a breeze for you, we made some perfect invitations for our golf themed birthday party. They are so fun, perfectly capture the theme, and are editable with Canva. You can grab the invitations in our Etsy Shop.

Golf Themed Party Preparations
Party prep is a key part of the party planning process. This will make your party day preparations easier. It will also help your party day have less stress, which always makes parties more fun!
A key part of the preparation process is thinking about decorations. How do you want to decorate your space to fully capture the theme of your party? What items do you need to buy, and what items should you make?
To ease your process for preparing for a Golf Themed Birthday Party, we have compiled a list of everything we purchased for our party. You can see how we used each of the purchased items in the rest of the blog post.
If you are purchasing our Golf Birthday Party Bundle from our Etsy Shop, many of the signs you need will be there for you ready to print.

Golf Party Decorations
Decorations just really turn the location into a party. We love bringing our themes to life. The little details really make all the difference when it comes to transforming a living room, basement, or backyard into a fully themed party!
For our golf themed birthday party, we had so many easy details that really made the party. We are going to do a quick show off of the golf party decorations we used.
We made our very own Golf Course Map to add to our course of the party. It was a nice touch to turn our space into a golf course.
Another thing we made that we had around (and planned to use for an activity) are some yardage markers, as you would see at a driving range. These markers are for 5-20 yards. If you are having an outdoor party, you should try to put these at the appropriate yardage to make fun driving range games or a backyard golf game.
We, unfortunately, had rain on party day, making our party move indoors. These signs would have made much more sense outside for our driving range activity.
Here are some breakdowns of some of our bigger golf birthday party decorations areas.
Putting Green Balloon Arch
To really make this area shine, we added some artificial grass to the backdrop. Not only did it bring out the green turf just like on a golf course, but it also added some life to our decor.
We used Velcro command strips to hang the turf on the wall. It took quite a few because the turf is pretty heavy, but it totally worked!
After hanging our turf up, we built our balloon arch around it. We built a simple arch that covered one side of the turf. We used green, white, and blue balloons. As you know, we think balloons add so much to a party.
Pro Shop
The Pro Shop was a great addition to our golf themed party. It added a fun look to the decor but was also a practical place for us to store all of the supplies for each of our activities. It was the perfect touch.
Our Pro shop was made up of some wire shelves. This was something that we already had on hand, but another option could be to use a pegboard.
We created a sign for the Pro Shop that you can get in the golf birthday party bundle on Etsy. It is a simple sign, but it ties the Pro Shop area into the rest of the decor.
In the Pro shop, we displayed some of our own golf equipment, such as golf clubs, tees, gloves, and buckets of balls. We also used this space to store the golf party supplies for some of our activities.
This is where we hung up our score card lanyards, visors, and golf balls for decorating, and even some of the golf party favors (golf ball cups).
This really was such a practical decoration; we want to think of ways to tie one into every party theme.
Snack Bar: Members Lounge
Decorating our food area is also a fun touch we like to add to every party. The golf themed birthday party food table was simple. We added a green backdrop, which we made from a plastic tablecloth, and we added some words cut out with the Cricut.
At the table, we added a white tablecloth with an artificial turf runner. These small details make all the difference when turning your food table into a party theme decoration!
Golf Themed Party Foods
Now that our table has been set up and goes with the theme, we just need to add some food for our guests.
We start off by making food labels for our themed food. This helps our guests know what foods they are getting. They are part of the birthday party bundle, or you can grab just the labels in our Etsy shop.
We are just going to do a quick rundown on the golf themed foods here. If you want more details on the food, you can check out the blog post on golf party food. It has all of the ideas you need to create a set that is a hole-in-one!

Golf Party Activities
To start off our activities, we made some signs to have around the party area. These helped our guests know where to go when we announced the activities. We had signs for the putting green, the chip off, and the driving range.
Then we created some score cards for each of our little golfers to keep score! The kids loved writing their score on their cards. The little pencils were also a nice touch. Each kid having their own pencil to use was a hit.

For this party, we planned 5 activities. Because of the weather, we did 4 indoor activities for kids. We understand that having that many activities might be too much for many parties, so pick and choose the golf party activities that best fit your party.
Here is the list of activities we did at our golf birthday party. If you are looking for more information about these activities, you can check out our blog post about golf activities for kids.

5 Easy and Fun Golf Activities that Kids will Love
Golf Party Favors
The activities in this birthday party made for some fun golf themed party favors. Each of our guests left with 5 items to remember this golf birthday party.
Each guest got to take home their decorated visors and golf balls. You could collect the golf balls at the end to let the kids keep their work of art.
We also sent our guests home with their lanyards that held their score cards. Additionally, we found these adorable golf ball cups that we just couldn’t resist. The cups matched the theme so well, we just had to get them. We also did not want 20 golf ball cups in our cupboards. So, we sent each guest home with their own. The kids thought the cups were great golf party favors.
Finally, we bought some trophies for each of our little golfers. The kids loved receiving their trophy for all of their good golfing as golf themed party favors.
These golf theme party favors helped the golf birthday party wrap up nicely! They also made the kids proud of themselves.
