What Wicked Party Decorations Do I Need?
If you’re searching for the perfect Wicked birthday decorations, look no further because we went all out! We used simple items and turned them into stunning decor.
When planning our Wicked themed party, we knew the decorations had to be just as magical as the musical. Splitting the room into two sides—Glinda and Elphaba—was the obvious choice!
To bring this concept to life, we started by transforming the walls. Since painting the room wasn’t an option, we used pink and green plastic tablecloths as “wallpaper.” We stapled the tablecloths to the tops of the walls. This made the walls fully pink and green. It was awesome!
Although it was time-consuming, this simple decorating trick made a huge difference. We also added pink and green butcher paper along the top of each wall. We did hand-draw leafy designs on the pink for a quick, fancy detail.
A Show-Stopping Balloon Arch
The true focal point of our Wicked party decorations was the balloon arch. The arch spanned the Glinda and Elphaba sides and instantly wowed every guest who walked in.
On Glinda’s side, we used pink balloons, silver stars, iridescent bubbles, a glittery crown, and little pink bows. A pink backdrop added an extra sparkle.

Elphaba’s side was quite a contrast with deep green and black. We used dark green balloons, accented with a shimmery emerald backdrop.

This huge arch perfectly showed off the two iconic witches and helped anchor the entire split party decor in our space.
“Glinda-fied” Wicked Party Decorations
Our Glinda side was pretty, pink, and vibrant—just like the good witch herself.
Some of our favorite Wicked birthday decorations included:
- A Glinda monogram. (Free Printable)
- Glinda’s wand and crown.
- A rack full of pink clothes.
- A sparkling pink table.
- A “Popular” food table.
This side of the room was perfect! So polished. So pink. It was iconic. Our girls were thrilled by the Glinda side of the room!
Here are some details about each of these pink Wicked party decorations.
Glinda Monogram
We decorated a couple of things with this Glinda monogram. You can get the free printable one below. We used it to decorate a large glass vase. It really made the room call out Glinda’s name!
We also found some old luggage at a thrift store. We sprayed the luggage set light pink. Then we added the Glinda monogram. It was such a great Wicked party decoration that added some depth and flair to our space.

Pink, Please!
For Glinda’s side of the room, we went all pink. For these Wicked party decorations, we added a pink mirror and Glinda’s wand to the mantle. We also hung a silk bow garland.
Below the mantle, we filled the room with more pink. Everywhere you looked, there was pink with a touch of sparkle.

How to Style a Glinda Pink Table for Your Wicked-Themed Party
We set a pink table to anchor Glinda’s side. The base was a blush pink tablecloth. For the centerpiece, we placed a glitter crown with a ring of pink tinsel garland. Pink bottles added height, and Glinda’s bubble wand was displayed next to the centerpiece.
A thrifted thick hardcover book was spray-painted pink and finished with our printable “Knowledge” binding cover. Small pink bows were scattered across the table for detail. A cup of pens with pink and white fluffy tops was set out for the kids to write their Mad Lib letter to the Wizard.

You’ll Be Popular
To add some fun to our food, we Glindafied it! We themed our food table after the song “Popular”. You for sure are going to want to check out our blog post about this themed food because it was a hit.
Wicked Party Food Ideas
To spice up our “Popular” food table, we added a shimmer backdrop. We also had some fabric arches covered with bows. Then we added a quick sign that read, “ You’ll Be Popular.”
The food table was the perfect little nod to the favorite Wicked song and also added to our Wicked party decorations.
Elphaba Decorations
The Elphaba side of the room featured darker tones and some fun little details.
Some of our favorite Elphaba Wicked birthday decorations included:
- Floating witch hats
- Elphaba’s glasses
- Oz delivery hot air balloon
- Black bookshelf full of books
Elphaba’s Room
We anchored Elphaba’s wicked party decorations with a black bookshelf filled with green and black books, candles, a wand, and a framed photo of Elphaba and Glinda.
A nearby broom and a witch hat added the perfect witch nod.
Everything Green
With the walls covered in green, emerald was surely the scene. Green shimmer curtains were also layered on the walls for extra sparkle.
We created a hot air balloon like the one that delivers Elphaba’s invitation to Oz. That hung on Elphaba’s side of the room.
It was perfect for delivering messages to and from the Wizard himself. Check out our Wicked party activities to find more information on writing to the Wizard.
Wicked Party Activities
Elphaba’s Table
We did some of our Wicked themed activities at our Glinda and Elphaba tables. The Elphaba table had a much darker vibe than Glinda’s.
The table was covered with a black tablecloth. The table was decorated with green bottles, Elphaba’s glasses, and gold feather pens.

Elphaba's Glasses
Feather Pen
Floating witch hats hung magically above the table.
These details brought depth to the space. Perfectly, capturing Elphaba’s magical energy.
Hot Air Balloon Mail Delivery
To recreate Elphaba receiving a letter from the Wizard, we crafted a Wicked party decoration inspired by a hot air balloon!
Hanging from the ceiling, this balloon served as a fun mail station where kids could drop off their letters to the Wizard during one of the activities. Then, the Wizard returned a letter to begin our scavenger hunt!
We used a giant balloon, string, and foam board to create this Wicked party decoration. We painted the foam board to look like a basket.
It was a hit with the kids and added an interactive element to our Wicked birthday decorations.
Emerald City
For the grand journey to Oz, we transformed a hallway into the Emerald City by hanging green plastic tablecloths and green streamers from the ceiling to the floor.
This created a magical path from the main party area to our Wiz-O-Mania setup. It was a simple, but super easy way to transform our hallway into the Emerald City.

- A cardboard arch labeled “Wiz-O-Mania”
- A green sequin curtain
- A giant Wizard head printable glued on foam core board
